Building Meaningful Business Documentation
The basis of any management system is a documented set of procedures. Participants in this course will learn the skills necessary to identify the required documents to support the business and the steps to create effective documentation.
Designed for those responsible for the development and/or improvement of management systems through manuals, policies and process-focused procedures.
During the program participants are encouraged to conduct an assessment of the necessary documentation for their business processes and to give initial consideration to the level and types of documents required.
Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Plan the project, resources and budget
- Map the critical processes for documentation and data control
- Clarify data collection goals and categorise the data
- Prepare and write an effective manual, procedures and work instructions which will ensure clear concise specification of work responsibilities, methods and activities
- Ensure that these completed procedures meet the level required by the organisation and various external parties
- Understand change control and problem management aspects of document control

- Documentation compliance to ISO standards
- Planning a documentation project
- Procedures/Instructions - What are they? How to write them. How much detail?
- Methods for creating purposeful documentation
- Document control and data control
- Document distribution
- Identification of the root cause of problems and improvement to processes

1 day 9.00 am to 5:00 pm
Cost
$440.00 for members of AOQ (GST inclusive)
$528 .00 for non-members of AOQ (GST inclusive)
(AOQ members receive a 10% discount for three or more people attending from the same organisation on the same course)
The cost includes coffee/tea on arrival, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, course notes and workshop materials.
